The Captain’s daughter
Sick of water
Took off for the coast
Her father’s sorrow made her wallow
But he still had his boat
She thought about the waves and gulls
But what she thought of most
She kept a secret to herself
And made off for the coast

The farmer’s sun
With the loaded gun
Out shooting at some birds
The Sun it shone, the wind it blew
And upon a voice he heard
He wandered over to the carcass pit
And tumbled over the rim
His father thought he heard some laughing
When it came time, to fill it in

High above on the balcony
There stands a corporate wife
She’s making cheques and balances
For what she’ll take to the afterlife
The dinner’s cold on a table of gold
Her husbands always late
Maybe he’s with a client
Maybe she shouldn’t be so reliant
Maybe its time, its time to sedate

The taxi driver, no luck either
Stuck out at the lights
He’s driving for his family
But he drives away his wife
He day dreams about Nigeria
But is called back to post
An ocean girl is calling
Says she needs to be picked up
